  • Wikipedia 2 April 2018 (Thomas Dempster (23 August 1579-6 September 1625) was a Scottish scholar and historian. He was born in Aberdeenshire to a Catholic family which suffered badly, and he became an itinerant professor in France and Italy. He eventually found refuge and patronage under Grand Duke Cosimo II of Tuscany, who commissioned a work on the Etruscans. The result was De Etruria Regali Libri Septem, eventually published in an enhanced version in 1723 by Thomas Coke. He died in Bologna.) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Dempster
