The National Library of Australia is replacing the infrastructure that supports the Australian National Bibliogaphic Database (ANBD) in 2025. From 27 March - mid-April direct cataloguing to the ANBD will be unavailable. The Trove Partners Cataloguing tool will be released in mid-April. Wikipedia 10 February 2017 (Sir George Handley "The Knibb" Knibbs CMG (13 June 1858 – 30 March 1929) was an Australian scientist, the first Commonwealth Statistician and the first director (from 1921 to 1926) of the Commonwealth Institute of Science and Industry. He was born in Sydney. He became a licensed surveyor in 1878, a member of the Royal Society of New South Wales in 1881, being an office-bearer for many years, and in 1890 became lecturer in surveying at the University of Sydney, also engaging in physics and astronomy. In 1905 he was appointed Director of Technical Education in New South Wales. In 1906 he was appointed first director of the Commonwealth Bureau of Census and Statistics. He was a member of the Australasian Association for the Advancement of Science. In 1926 he retired from his positions. He died in Camberwell, Victoria, on 30 March 1929.
