Wikipedia 21 August 2021: (Sir Frederick Aloysius Weld GCMG (9 May 1823, Bridport, Dorset – 20 July 1891), was a New Zealand politician and a governor of various British colonies. He was the sixth Premier of New Zealand, and later served as Governor of Western Australia, Governor of Tasmania, and Governor of the Straits Settlements. He was a staunch Catholic and promoter of Catholic participation in public life. He arrived in New Zealand in 1844, and after making a successful start in sheep farming, turned to politics. He was elected to the first New Zealand Parliament in 1853; he was Premier 1864-1865. After he returned to England (1867-1869), he was appointed Governor of Western Australia (1869-1875); after a visit to New Zealand, he was appointed Governor of Tasmania (1875-1880), then of the Straits Settlements (1880-1887), after which he retired; he died in Chideock, Dor\set, England.) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frederick_Weld
