Dixon; Robert Malcolm Ward Dixon; born in Gloucester, England, January 25, 1939; co-author, with John Godrich, of the definitive discography of American prewar blues and gospel recordings, Blues and Gospel Records: 1890-1943. He came to Australia in 1963, and has worked intensively on several Aboriginal and Brazilian languages, and on linguistic theory and fieldwork.
