In 1934 the Special Committee on Un-American Activities was created in the House of Representatives. It was revived in 1938 and functioned continuously until 1945, when it was succeeded by the Committee on Un-American Activities. In Feb. 1969 the name of this committee was changed to Committee on Internal Security. Works by these bodies are found under the name used at the time of publication.
