  • Australian Dictionary of Biography (online) 17 July 2020: (David Charles Stove (1927–1994), philosopher and conservative polemicist, was born on 15 September 1927 at Moree, New South Wales. He attended the University of Sydney (B.A. 1950), and became lecturer in philosophy at the NSW University of Technology. In 1960 he moved to the University of Sydney, becoming asocaite professor in 1974, and retiring in 1987. He was a leading figure in the split of the philosophy department in the 1970s, strongly favoring the "traditional and modern" side, with David Armstrong.
