In 1987, the proposed University of Western Sydney changed its name to Chifley University. In late 1988, the proposed Chifley University became the multi-campus University of Western Sydney as a federation of Macarthur Institute of Higher Education, Nepean College of Advanced Education and Hawkesbury Agricultural College under one Vice-chancellor. In mid-2015 the name changed to: Western Sydney University. Works by these bodies are entered under the name used at the time of publication.
