  • Wikipedia 7 February 2022: (Anna Marion Hilliard (June 17, 1902 – July 15, 1958) was a Canadian physician best known for her contribution to the development of a simplified Pap test. She was born in Morrisburg, Ontario, Canada; she studied at the Univertsity of Toronto (B.A. 1924) and was a top ice hockey player, and was active in the Student Christian Movement. She continbued her studies in medicine (M.B. 1924) then moved to London to study obstetrics, gaining the degree of Member of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1928 and qualifying in obstetrics. She returned to Toronto to practise. In 1947 she became chief of the Women's College Hospital obstetriucs department, retiring in 1957, and in collaboration with colleagues developed the simplified Pap test.
