  • Australian Dictionary of Biography (online) 1 October 2021: (Frederick Taylor Whitington (1853-1938), Anglican priest, was born on 13 July 1853 in Adelaide. He was ordained priest in 1877, and served in several positions. In 1891 he moved to Brisbane and was appointed general secretary of the Australian Board of Missions; while visiting new Guinea he contracted malaria, and had to move, and 1893 became canon of St David's Cathedral, Hobart, Tasmania; in 1895 he was made archdeacon of Hobart and vicar-general, until he retired in 1923. he was a member of copuncil of the University of Tasmania, and wrote several scholarly biographies. he died in Hobart on 29 November 1938.) https://adb.anu.edu.au/biography/whitington-frederick-taylor-9085
