The Université libre de Belgique was founded in 1834, and later changed its name to Université libre de Bruxelles. In 1970, Vrije Universiteit Brussel became a separate Dutch-speaking university and was created independent of Université libre de Bruxelles. Works published by these bodies in Dutch after 1970 are found under Vrije Universiteit Brussel. All other works by these bodies are found under the name used at time of publication.
